Household Questions

What supplies will we need to bring with us for our stay?

You should only need to bring food and drinks, and everything else should be provided by us. But if you think you will need more than what we provide, we recommend bringing extra supplies.

Is there parking?

Absolutely! We have a driveway for parking on the premises with up to six vehicle spaces available. If you need more parking, there is also free street parking.

Can I have an event, party, or wedding?

You are not allowed to have any events at the rental property outside of the registered guests staying with you.

Is wifi provided?

Yes! We also have an ethernet connection if you prefer that.

What is your smoking policy?

You are not allowed to smoke in the house. However, you may smoke outside on the patios.

What items are prohibited or restricted at the cabins?

We do not allow any fuel or flammable liquids to be on the property. These are prohibited.

Can we bring our firearms and set up a spot for target practice?

While you have the right to carry firearms, we do not allow target practice with firearms on our property.

Booking & Reservation Questions

What are check-in/check-out times?

You are allowed to check-in after 4:00 PM on the first day your reservation starts. Check-out time is on/before 10 AM on the last day of your reservation. We do allow a late checkout time, as long as no one is booked on the day of your departure. Make sure to contact us if you’d like to do a late check-out time.

How do I make a reservation?

You can book through Airbnb or VRBO, or book directly with us and save 15-25% by avoiding fees and service charges.

Can we bring our dog?

Absolutely! Our rental house is pet-friendly. We allow up to 3 dogs of any size to come stay with you. There’s so much for you and your furry friend to do here and in the surrounding area of Wintergreen, VA.

What forms of payment do you take?

We take Credit Cards, Venmo, or Zelle.

How much is due at the time of making the reservation?

You must provide the full amount at the time of making the reservation.

What is the minimum age requirement to make a reservation?

You must be 21 years of age to make a reservation at our rental cabin.

What fees are added to the cost of the rental rate?

We do charge a pet fee of $50.00 total if you’d like to bring your furry friend(s) with you. You may bring up to 3 pets.

How do we get the keys/codes for our rental?

The night before you arrival the codes for your rental will be emailed to you.

Can we bring our dog?

Absolutely! Our rental house is pet-friendly. We allow up to 3 dogs of any size to come stay with you. There’s so much for you and your furry friend to do here and in the surrounding area of Wintergreen, VA.

What is the refund and cancellation policy?

Our refund policy is as follows:

  • 100% refund of the amount paid if you cancel at least 14 days before check-in.
  • 50% refund of the amount paid (minus the service fee) if you cancel at least 7 days before check-in.
  • No refund if you cancel less than 7 days before check-in.
  • Free cancellation deadlines are in the property’s timezone.

Do You Offer Discounts or Specials?

Yes! We offer a discount if you book directly through us either by phone or email rather than through Airbnb and VRBO. You receive a 15-25% discount over their published rates.

When will I receive my reservation confirmation?

You will receive your reservation confirmation once the payment is submitted via email.

Can I make changes to my reservation?

Yes, but please try to do so in advance as much as possible. The closer you get to your reservation date, the harder it will be to make changes.

What if I booked through another online service?

You will still be marked as a guest! You don’t have to worry about any discrepancies. Additionally, if you wish to cancel your reservation but booked through another platform, you may do so but you will need to comply with that platform’s policy.

Do you have a minimum stay requirement?

Yes we do! Our minimum stay requirement is a 2 nights minimum.

What fees are there for damage or excessive cleaning?

You will be responsible for any damage to the rental property caused by you or your party during your stay. We may charge a refundable security deposit.

Is it possible to rent for a long-term stay?

Yes, we allow long-term stays of 28 days or more and this comes with an additional discount.

Are there any special rules or regulations that I should be aware of when renting this cabin?

Yes! Please be mindful of Quiet Time and avoid excessive noise after 10 pm. This is to ensure other visitors around you are able to enjoy their trip too. Also, please request pool and fishing pond passes in advance — up to 6 guests.

Is the cabin in the Wintergreen Ski Resort?

Yes! Our vacation rental cabin is located on the Wintergreen Ski Resort and is a golf-front property on their award-winning golf course.

What is the closest airport?

The closest airport to Wintergreen, VA is Staunton (SHD) Airport. But there are other airports in Virginia that are available with Charlottesville (CHO) being the next nearby airport, then Richmond International Airport (RIC), Washington Dulles (IAD), and Reagan Washington (DCA).

Food & Activities Questions

Are there restaurants in the area?

Yes, there are plenty of restaurants! Route 151 Trail is known for a variety of amazing restaurants, wineries, antique stores, Cideries and distilleries, Devils Backbone Brewpub, Bold Rock Hard Cidery, Wild Wolf Brewery, and Wood Ridge Farm being among just a few. Most offer various outdoor games and live band performances in addition to tasty cuisine menus.

Where can we buy groceries?

There are a few options to buy groceries. You can stay on the resort and visit The Market at Wintergreen Resort, which is the closest. But you can also visit Blue Ridge Grocery IGA, Hickman’s Grocery, or Grave’s Grocery which are all within the Wintergreen, VA area.

Do I have access to any Wintergreen Ski Resort amenities?

Absolutely! You can play golf on the award-winning golf course right from the backyard. Need to make a reservation directly with the Wintergreen Resort. The Spa and Fitness Center is about 1.5 miles down the mountain where you can enjoy a massage after a long day outdoors and those workout zealots will find a well-equipped exercise room (reserve access with the Resort directly). Guests can relax in the Chestnut Spring heated pools, Jacuzzis, and saunas, equipped with children’s water facilities, or play at the tennis courts, use the archery range and attractive Stony Creek fishing ponds, (please request pool and fishing pond passes in advance — up to 6 guests). For fishing, a fishing license is required just like any other waters in Virginia.

What is there to do around Wintergreen, VA?

There’s plenty to do around Wintergreen, VA, and at the Wintergreen Ski Resort year-round. You can go hiking in the surrounding mountains, take a drive or ride on your motorcycle along the Blue Ridge Parkway, go fishing or mountain biking, play golf, check out local events, go apple picking, visit a pumpkin patch, try local restaurants, visit any of the wineries, and go skiing or snowboarding on the resort. There are also plenty of activities or amenities that the resort offers. Our rental cabin is in a beautiful area with many things to do whether its spring, summer, fall or winter!
